OUR FRENCH CLASSES
French Language Classes
We offer 2 formats of virtual French classes for beginners in 3rd, 4th or 5th grade in elementary schools. The classes, based on a curriculum developed by one of our young adults with the help of a Stanford Professor, involve teaching through games. The children learn to recognize and memorize vocabulary, and gradually build sentences of progressive increased complexity. One of the specific programs we have developed is French lessons for Spanish speakers, capitalizing on the interconnections between both languages.
- The French classes for English speakers are conducted by pairs of high school students. Our highschoolers are native speakers or fluent in French. The registration for each session happens through Peachjar.
- The French classes for Spanish speakers are conducted by teams of two highschoolers, comprising a French native speaker and a student fluent in French, through diverse cities' Recreation Departments. These classes highlight the interconnections between the French and the Spanish languages, as both originate from Latin. The young students build their competency in French by capitalizing on identical language structures and connections between words.

My 10 year old son has been attending these French lessons with Julie for the past school year. I highly recommend them. Each lesson covers a particular topic, like basic verbs or vocabulary, which are then interwoven with games and songs in French. The playfulness communicates the material in a fun and interactive way, which holds the kids’ attention and gets them to engage with the material they’ve learned.
